Rethinking Student Engagement (Part 2): Using Data to Measure Engagement
Schools collect academic data on student progress from the time a student enrolls until they graduate. However, they often do not have a strategy or process for analyzing this data. This analysis is even more important as traditional learning modes have been disrupted by COVID-19.

In this presentation, Buck Crockett, Director of Technology at Almaden Country Day School will demonstrate simple strategies for analyzing large sets of academic data and how the patterns found in the data helped informed his school's grading program, Derek Swanson, Director of Learning Innovation and eLearning, and Robyn Gibson lower school teacher, of The American Community School of Abu Dhabi will show how they used data to measure learning opportunities and student progress, and Jeff Terwin and Rob Brisk from The Wellington School and Wellington Initiative will share about how data collection and analysis has become an essential part of their school.
